Underwater Photography
Initially apnoe divers, after several years of photography without additional air supply we took the plunge and took a scuba diving course in 2004. Main reason was just to have even more time under water for gathering photos and footage. Underwater photography surely is one of the most difficult areas of photography. Once your camera is sealed in the housing, you can´t change lenses, flashlights or whatever. If you have a macro port and suddenly see a manta, you just had "bad luck". Equipment is pretty expensive, heavy and has to be serviced regularely.
Only if you are experienced enough with photography above the surface, have a feeling for the water and some experience as diver you might take some nice images back to the surface. But it is likely you might just not see anything at all underwater because you just can´t influence nature and visibility.
